Friends of Heron and El Valdo Lakes (FOHEV)

FOHEV is a volunteer organization incorporated as a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 entity (applied for). We operate under a “Cooperative Agreement” with the New Mexico State Parks Division and our purpose is to assist the Parks Division and the Parks by enhancing, preserving and promoting Park use. FOHEV helps the Parks in many ways with interpretative, educational and recreational programs and acts as an advocate group for the park system. All of our activities and money raised are used to benefit the communities of the Chama Valley, Heron Lake and El Vado Lake State Parks and the New Mexico State Parks Division.

Membership

Dear Friends,

Great news! Now, you and I have a real chance to help preserve Heron and El Vado Lakes State Parks. These New Mexico State Parks are our heritage. Yours, mine, and - if we are vigilant and responsible - our children and grandchildren. They mean clean air, fresh water, recreation and quiet for generations to come.

Friends of Heron and El Vado Lakes State Park (FOHEV) are dedicated to the protection, restoration and continued enjoyment of these wilderness treasures.

I’m would like to invite you to join us. FOHEV are people like you: parents, teachers, ranchers, birdwatchers, business people, hunters, and more. Your membership in FOHEV includes free day-use entrance to Heron and El Vado Lakes for one year, enjoy our ever popular Osprey Festival, July 11th & 12th, along with special events throughout the year. Meet other outdoor lovers and explore places you and your family otherwise might never discover.

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the Friends of Heron and El Vado Lake State Parks and to remind you that this is the time to join or renew your current membership. New memberships will receive two vehicle day-use placards. For renewing members, we will use the same placards as last year along with a 2008 sticker.

The FOHEV Board has set the term for the 2008 membership beginning April 1, 2008, and will run through March 31, 2009.

We appreciate your continued support.

Sincerely,

Dianna Andrews, President
Friends of Heron and El Vado Lake State Parks
